About Redlands Classic Ride
|
In 2008, the Rotary Club of Redlands Bayside located at Victoria Point, held the inaugural Redlands Classic Ride to raise money and awareness for the Rotary Foundation and other local beneficiaries. The event raised over $6,000 through 250 participants and supporters.
The following year the event raised over $20,000 with 400 participants and supporters. Then in 2010, it drew a record crowd of 600 participants and supporters, and raised over $32,000. This year we are expecting over 800 riders and supporters and hope to raise close to $45,000.
Over the years these funds have been donated to the Rotary Foundation, the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland, The Heart Foundation, The Matthew Stanley Foundation, State Emergency Services, Sharks Triathlon and Cycling Club and the Wynnum Redlands Cycling Club junior development program.
The ride generates vital support to many local beneficiaries in the Redlands community.
The Redlands Classic Ride has now become the much awaited event in the calendar of cycling enthusiasts, drawing participants from both within and outside the Redland City area.
The event is held with the support of the Redland City Council and the Queensland Police.
